I went to the first ever Philippine BlogCon 2006 last night at the National Sports Grill in Greenbelt 3 sponsored by Globe Innove. I finally got to meet some of the people behind the local blogs I read such as Abe Olandres and Markku Seguerra.

If you remember this previous post, then you should know that I like creating simple computer games in the office. The latest game I did is an adaptation of the primetime ABS-CBN game show Kapamilya, Deal or No Deal, minus the overly enthusiastic commercial endorser/host.

I forgot to blog about this two weeks ago, but I finally got to step into SM Mall of Asia three Saturdays ago. This is funny because I always pass by SMMoA whenever I go to and from work but I only got to visit it a few months after it opened. (The same thing happened with Ayala’s Market! Market!—I pass by it every working day but I only got in several months after it opened.)

Finally finished reading the Updated and Expanded edition of Thomas Friedman’s The World Is Flat: A Brief History of the Twenty-first Century this week. (It helped that I got sick and had nothing better to do.) I don’t read much books lately, but The World Is Flat is the best non-fiction I’ve read in a long time.

Not even a half-year after I got my iPod nano, Apple introduced even yummier nanos last Tuesday. Thinner? Check. Twice more storage for the same price? Check. Twice the battery life? Check. More colors? Check. Scratch-resistant aluminum casing? Check. Brighter LCD screen? Check. And the oft-requested gapless playback feature? Check, check, check!

I’ve been on leave from the office for the past two days due to some unknown viral disease. Thankfully it’s not dengue fever which requires a hospital stay. I’ve succumbed to dengue before and it’s not fun having your blood extracted every 6 hours so that the doctor can monitor your platelet count.
