Amazing Race in Manila

11:06 pm PHT

Today was one day I wanted to go home early from the office. There was no friggin’ way I’m going to miss this week’s episode of The Amazing Race 5 where four teams are left racing in and around Manila.

One thing that really stumped me watching this episode was, “Where the hell is Victoria?” This was supposedly the duck capital of the Philippines. I thought Pateros was the duck capital? Pateros is not called Pateros for nothing. Pateros is Tagalog for “duck-raisers.” The teams went to Victoria from the Malagueña Motors factory in Cavite (where in Cavite? I have no idea). I’m quite sure Victoria is not in Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, or Bulacan. I guessed that it was either in Pampanga, Tarlac, Nueva Ecija, or Quezon. A quick look at a map showed that Victoria is in Tarlac, just northeast of Tarlac City.

I found it funny that all the three teams apart from Colin & Christie wanted to Yield them. Chip & Kim became the sacrificial lambs earning the ire of Colin & Christie as the married couple Yielded the dating couple.

Also, Presidential daugther, Luli Macapagal-Arroyo, was the person that greeted the teams in the Pit Stop at the Coconut Palace. Talk about power playing (although Luli is better than some hotshot young starlet).
