I’m going to buy a notebook/laptop by the end of this month and I would like to solicit suggestions on what are the nice mobile computers out there. I’ve never owned a laptop before and so I don’t consider myself informed about the possible choices.

Ethernet LAN
Wifi (802.11 b/g)
Bundled Windows XP Home (I’m still debating this)
256+ MB RAM
40+ GB hard drive
Modem
Combo optical drive
USB, Parallel, PS/2 ports, and the little things like that are a given. I don’t know much about which are the nice processors so I’ll leave it to you guys.
Some of the models that seem to fit the bill are:
So what models/brands would you recommend?

i’m not familiar with these brands, but you might want to check how serviceable each laptop is.
