It was way too late into the registration period when I learned about McDonald’s Mad Dash contest. There was no more time to get the necessary registration requirements (ID photos, medical certificates, etc.). But had I known about McDonald’s contest earlier, I would’ve tried to join.

Right about now, the Mad Dash contest is starting. This contest is a race between 24 two-person teams to visit 24 24-hour McDonald’s stores in Metro Manila in 24 hours on July 24 (7/24). The first team to do so wins a cool 240,000 pesos tax-free! The non-winning teams all get 1,000-peso gift certificates. And all you needed to qualify to join is a 150-peso single-receipt purchase.

In the office, we speculated on the mechanics of the actual contest because the contest poster only showed the mechanics of registration. Thanks to this blog post, we learn that you can only use public transportation. So, my officemate guessed this correctly because if you could use private vehicles, I’m sure the contest would be over in less than six hours. Apparently there are also challenges in some branches. Hehehe.

I’ve always wanted to join races like this, especially those that are not too physical. When I heard about the Nokia N95 Wireless Adventure Challenge from Yuga I immediately jumped at the chance and registered. Too bad I wasn’t picked.
