Never Fade Redux

I’ve been seeing an increased interest in Solu Music’s song “Fade” based on the comments to a previous post and also since I’m hearing a new remix on the radio and in the clubs.
Apparently, Hed Kandi has released this year a new Fade single for Solu Music, featuring new remixes. The “Grant Nelson Big Room” remix is apparently the new version I’ve been hearing and it gives a nice house taste.
Well, I still like the “Original Mix” best and that’s the one I like listening to when I feel like relaxing and lounging around.

Hed Kandi was never the same since Mark Doyle left to found Fierce Angels. I was used to hearing the slinky sexy sound of old HK compilations and was thrown off by the edgier brand of house in the later releases. I have nothing against Ministry of Sound, which now owns the my erstwhile favorite label, but let’s face it Hed Kandi is Mark Doyle. And without Jason Brooks weaving his magic on the cover, even the HK Girls seem to have lost all their appeal. I’d hate to be the bearer of bad news but really, the party’s over for Hed Kandi. Sigh.
