Sulit sa Airborne Access

8:06 am PHT

Wow. I was able to enjoy my 100-peso 1-hour Airborne Access Wingspan pre-paid Wi-Fi account for almost two hours. I don’t exactly know how, but it’s probably a temporary glitch on AA’s part, which may or may not be related to the PLDT DNS problem that Yuga blogged about and that my web hosting provider e-mailed their clients on (AA is connected with PLDT).

So I just recently tried to use the Wi-Fi capability of my laptop for the last two weekends (with Robinsons Galleria’s free Wi-Fi the other week and with AA’s hotspot in Eastwood last weekend). I tried AA to see how their usage works.

Anyway, I was able to enjoy quite decent Net access with AA (but I couldn’t access my blog, and this is most probably the PLDT DNS problem), and as expected, I wasn’t able to browse after one hour. Ok, fair enough. But when I checked my usage, I was surprised to find out that it seems I have only used zero minutes of my pre-paid account. So on a whim, I tried logging in again and woah, I got connected. So I was able to enjoy almost another hour of Wi-Fi. :D Almost one hour because the wireless router or something conked out about 45 minutes later—I couldn’t even access the AA hotspot website.

I haven’t tried experimenting with this again so I’m not sure if this is an ongoing bonanza or just a temporary glitch in The Matrix. Has anyone else encountered something like this?
