Reminiscing Peyups

10:14 pm PHT

Here are a couple of pictures with me in it back in my U.P. Diliman days. Hope you won’t get shocked. Hehehe.

EEE Representatives holding the BondEEEng banner.

That’s me (rightmost) with my fellow Department of Electrical and Engineering (DEEE) Representatives of the 2001–2002 Engineering Student Council (ESC) and we’re holding the BondEEEng banner. BondEEEng (June 20, 2001) was our second major departmental project during our term of office, after the EEE Freshman Orientation two days earlier. It’s basically an after-party for the students and faculty of EEE. This was held to celebrate the inauguration of the brand-new EEE Building that occurred earlier that day and the party is a baptism of sorts as it was held at the rooftop. I have to say that my fellow reps are one of the nicest bunch of people I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with. Two of them are actually engaged to get married right now. :)

I and Chie busy working at the stage props for Technofair 2001.

Here I am with fellow EEE Rep Chie outside the ESC office on a busy Thursday night (September 6, 2001) painting the backdrops that we would be using for the Technoquiz, a inter-university science and technology quiz show. The Technofair was the culminating activity of our week-long Technofair that featured engineering competitions, department exhibits, and sponsor company booths. I was designated the “Art Director” for the whole event as well as one of the technical dudes for the Technoquiz itself. I don’t recall who won the quiz show, but I think it was an Ateneo pair that had super-whiz Kendra Castillo in it. :D

Why am I posting these pictures showing that I was a scrawny geeky kid back then? (Ok, ok, I’m still geeky!) Well, these are my two entries to the UP@100: Capturing 100 UP Moments, a commendable project initiated by fellow U.P. student/alumni bloggers: AJ, Benj, Coy, Ederic, Faith, Fritz, Gino, Juned, Karla, and Kevin. This is an independent photography project in celebration of the U.P. Centennial. Visit any of those previous blog links to read their copy-and-pasted (heh) posts about the project. I hope that you join too (the deadline is this Thursday, June 19) and that I get to see your pictures as well. :D

Read up on my other U.P. Centennial blog posts: “UP Centennial”, and “The UP Centennial Questionnaire”.

You are like more buff now. To keep my college photographs from appearing like this, I left them all in the province. In a box. Under lock and key. Yay, participaxionz! Mabuhay ang UP!
